
Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two males after a theft vehicle investigation in Waterloo.
On May 27, 2025, at approximately 7:40 a.m., police received reports of two male suspects breaking into parked vehicles in the area of Erb Street West and Erbs Road.
Police located and arrested a 44-year-old male and a 26-year-old male, both from the region.
During the arrest, the 26-year-old male become assaultive with officers and began destroying police property. Due to the male’s behavior, more officers were required resulting in an increase of police presence in the area.
Officers sustained minor but non-life-threatening injuries.
The 44-year-old male is being charged with theft under $5000 and two counts of breaching a judicial order. The male is scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
The 26-year-old male has been charged with theft under $5000, three counts of assaulting a peace office, mischief under $5000, and two counts uttering threats to cause death. The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
